It was established on December 17, 1992, with a registered capital of 1.38 billion yuan. Its headquarters is located in Guangzhou. It is a state-controlled company mainly engaged in the production and sale of table salt and salt products, as well as the operation of food and condiments. The company is the main entity for Guangdong Salt Industry Group Co., Ltd. to promote mixed-ownership reform. It is also one of the third batch of mixed-ownership reform pilot units designated by the National Development and Reform Commission and the first provincial-level state-owned enterprise in Guangdong to conduct mixed-ownership reform at the group level.
